How to Troubleshoot Mobile App Push Notifications

How to enable push notifications on iOS
Once you have downloaded and opened the app for the first time, you will get a prompt that says the app “Would Like to Send You Notifications”.
Click on Allow. If you choose to not have turn on notifications at the beginning, you can turn on notifications at a later time. All you have to do this go to Settings>Notifications>find the club app>turn on Allow Notifications

 
How to enable push notifications on Android
When you download the app - push notifications are automatically turned on. If you wish to disable them go to Settings> Notifications>Included apps> scroll down until you find the app and then slide the button to off.
        

How to check that the member has an active device attached to their profile.

  • From the admin side - go to Member Directory>search for the member>open the members profile
  • On the General tab>left side you will see Mobile Devices
  • Devices shown in red are “expired” and will no longer receive push notification
  • Devices shown in black text are active
  • If no device shows in black then this member will not receive push notifications

Examples of Error Messages

Skipped (Virtual Device) - The member has turned off push notifications.

Firebase Exception Not Found: Requested entity was not found - The member hasn't opened the app in a while, or they haven't logged in since the last app update.

Firebase Exception Permission Denied: Sender ID mismatch - The device is recognized by Firebase, but it is registered to a different firebase project. Please reach out to your CSM if you are seeing this error.

InternalServerError - Could be a malformed message, or server availability issues. Special characters in the push notification will definitely cause this.

InvalidApnsCredential - The Unique ID’s that are setup in the system are incorrect. Please reach out to your CSM if you are seeing this error message so they can verify the setup of your mobile app.
